Capturing pulses
« on: April 24, 2015, 09:29:47 PM »
I want to try capturing pulses from a flow meter using a regular digital input.  I don't believe the rate is terribly high, maybe 100 hertz. Is this doable or will I need a high speed counter module?  The reason for doing this is to keep the cost down on the system I am designing.  I don't need high accuracy, a missed pulse here and there would not be an issue.  How should I code this?

You're on the edge. A Do-more controller can keep up, but your DC input is iffy. For 100hz you need better than 5ms response on the input.
