System Setup and Maintenance Overview

Initial System Setup

Configuring the Hardware Watchdog Timer - Do-more controllers contain a hardware watchdog timer that is used to put the controller into a safe mode if the operating system ever stops running for more than 2 seconds.

LED Definitions - Do-more controllers in the DL205 series have two-color LEDs that are used to visually provide operational status to the user.

Mode Switch Position Definitions - the Mode switch on the front of the controller is used to manually set the operational mode of the controller.

DIP Switch Definitions - the controller's circuit board have a block of DIP switches that are used to perform various debug and reset operations.

Configuring the Onboard Ethernet Port - the onboard Ethernet port of the controller supports only TCP/IP protocol. The Ethernet port must have its TCP/IP configuration set to operate on the same network as the computer that is running Do-more Designer.

System Maintenance

Changing the Onboard Battery - Do-more controllers have an onboard battery that maintains the contents of the retentive memory any time the power to the controller is lost.

Clearing the Network Configuration of the Onboard Ethernet Port - there will be times when the network configuration needs to be cleared (or temporarily set to some known values). For example, the controller is moved to a network with TCP/IP settings that make it unreachable with software, or the IP Address is unknown, or the IP address was entered incorrectly which also makes the controller unreachable.
