H0-CITRIO Booter Mode???
« on: February 02, 2012, 09:11:38 AM »
I could use a little help!!! I purchased a full step motor setup from A/D a while back to try and learn how to setup and use a step motor. I didn't get very far with it. H0-CITRIO is in booter mode and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it out. Yes I'm green here so if this is something easy I will take what you can dish out as long as it comes with a solution. I did read through all the documentation I could find for these and only came up with it has something to do with field OS upgrades. I got that from like page 1 in the manual that describes the led's on the front. Thanks for any help you may provide.

If it stays in the booter after a power cycle, it suggests that the OS is corrupted. The first thing I would do is update the firmware. If it persists, then the module is bad.

Thanks for the input BobO. I'm pretty sure it's bad. I have tried updating the Firmware several times and it pretty much gets to the same point of the update and fails. It first gives the the(Error downloading OS) and then it gives me two (Error reading shared ram) This is the Firmware file I'm using. h0ctrio_2_1_22.ceb Can you confirm that this is the correct update. Also it show's a booter version of 1.0.9 and the OS version is just ........ if that would help comfirm a total loss. One last thing I was wondering was if there's a chance the Com port settings on the 05 PLC I'm using should be something different than the standard settings. Thanks again for the help.

If you are connecting to it from CTRIO workbench and it is reading up firmware versions then your comm is fine.

I'd say you have a busted module. Rare, but it does happen. ADC will happily replace it.
