I just installed Windows 7 on my Dell 630 and have fought it all day trying to get DS5 SP3 installed.
The first issue is it would not let me install SP3 after DS5 was installed. It insisted that I uninstall DS5 before I could install SP3
After removing DS5 and running SP3, SP3 searched every file on my computer and on the external 1 TB USB drive before starting the install process.
After finally getting SP3 installed on the computer, it would not open any project and if I ran the DS5 program directly it did not list any PLC types in the new program window.
To fix this I had to use the control panel and program maintenance to set DS5 programming software in the Windows SP2 compatability mode. Now I have PLC's in the PLC type window but still no DS5 Launch or communications from DS5.
To fix this I had to do the same procedure with both CSMain.exe and DSLaunch.exe and run both of these in the Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode.
I think that all of these problems were created by using the Windows Easy Transfer program to move my files off the computer and then restore them after installing Windows 7.
Now if I could just figure out why Windows IE9 has suddenly stopped logging on to HTTPS web sites (yes I did everything that Microsoft recommended). I had to install Firefox on the computer to get something that would allow me to access my email and time sheet web sites.
