Need copy of DirectSoft32 v4 Programming Manual
« on: January 14, 2010, 03:36:45 PM »
The previous contractor made off with the only copy of the full programming manual for DirectSoft32 v4.0.  Does anyone have an electronic copy they can email me or direct me to a link I can download?

I have the Quick Start manual already.

Automation Direct doesn't like to make the manual to readily available as a way of discouraging unauthorized copying.

I would suggest that you upgrade to DirectSoft v5.  The upgrade is like $195, there are a lot of feature upgrades, support for new PLC models, and bug fixes, and you'll get a (digital) manual.  If your company won't cough up the $195, find out where the v4 software or v4 upgrade was purchased, from Automation Direct or from a VAR.  That company should have a record of the sale and should be willing to provide a copy of the documentation.

I just checked my cd, and I can't find an electronic version on it. But I have a hard copy here beside me. I don't need it anymore because I upgraded. PM me if you want it, Jason

After reading the post in this thread, I looked on my DirectSoft5 install Disk and there
is no copy of the manual I could find.

There should be a way for a registered to easily get a backup digital manual for the software.

I still do have the original install disk for DirectSoft32, I will search that media to
see if there is a copy.

What, if any, are the options to have or purchase a manual for DirectSoft5 ?
I have a legal/registered DS5 software.

8bits, for a DirectSOFT5 manual, look in your c:\DirectSOFT5\Help folder and you will find the manual in PDF format called:

DS-User-Manual.PDF

If you need a DirectSOFT4 manual, send me an e-mail with your Product Key and I'll send you a copy of it in PDF as well.
