Yes I can open them from there yet it says it is a adobe file.
If I move that file to a USB stick and try to open it I can't yet if I open designer than pick that file than I can open it yet it says it is an adobe file.
This is a Windows O/S issue. Designer never "assigns" the .dmd extension to itself, meaning you cannot open the file directly via the Windows Explorer. I guess Adobe has decided that .dmd is its extension, so when you try to open it via Windows Explorer - it tries to launch Adobe.
Since Designer never "assigns" the .dmd extension, just open Designer first, then use Designer to open the project file - do NOT try to open it directly via Windows Explorer. You will have to "Browse" to the project file on your USB stick (say drive G:).
