Domore file question

I feel dumb having to ask this question but it seem's I will have to

I'm using domore 2.9 and I have a couple projects.
I would like to store them on a usb for backup purposes.
I went to my file system and found domore - projects and found them in a .dlo and a.wsp and a adobe acrobat but not in a .dmd file which is what im saving them in.
I am an veteran electrician who is not an expert on computers.
What am I doing wrong

Not sure what is going on.

Use Designer's Select Project dialog and see what the full paths are of the "recently used" files that are listed.  See if you can open any of them via that dialog.  Let us know what you find out (full paths and whether you could open any of them).

The complete path is- This PC-OC-Users-Puplic-puplic documents-Domore-Designer2.9-projects.

Yes I can open them from there yet it says it is a adobe file.

If I move that file to a USB stick and try to open it I can't yet if I open designer than pick that file than I can open it yet it says it is an adobe file.

This is a Windows O/S issue.  Designer never "assigns" the .dmd extension to itself, meaning you cannot open the file directly via the Windows Explorer.  I guess Adobe has decided that .dmd is its extension, so when you try to open it via Windows Explorer - it tries to launch Adobe.

Since Designer never "assigns" the .dmd extension, just open Designer first, then use Designer to open the project file - do NOT try to open it directly via Windows Explorer.  You will have to "Browse" to the project file on your USB stick (say drive G:).
