No.  Links are stored in a single file, not like Project files that can be stored in any folder (default is the "Projects" folder below the Public Documents Designer version folder, e.g. C:\Users\Public\Documents\Do-more\Designer2_9\Projects\).

Do you need links associated with the actual File System Folder hierarchy, or are you just wanting a hierarchy of some kind to all your Links?

I have a few questions about links. I typically run my BRX's behind a StrideLinx VPN router. I assign each VPN router's LAN to the same IP address range, and the PLC's to the same IP address in that LAN range. So if only one PLC, x.x.x.21 for example. If a second PLC behind same router, .22, etc.

1. Can I create a link just called "Primary VPN PLC" x.x.x.21, and use that for connecting to all PLC's with that IP address? Would the PLC name/description/etc cause a local/remote compare issue?

2. Can I force a link to connect over a certain interface, say VPN Tap interface vs Ethernet port?

Yes. The IP address is all that matters, if that is the selected address mode.

We bind to specific adapters to force broadcasts out that port, but once the address is specified, the network stack does the routing.

Yes. The IP address is all that matters, if that is the selected address mode.

Perfect. I've had the suspicion it should work for a while, but had not dug into it. This will clean up my link list considerably.

Just a hierarchy of customers, then drill down to pertaining links. My links list is long

Just a hierarchy of customers, then drill down to pertaining links. My links list is long

We definitely support that concept for the project files, since they exist in folders on the file system, subfolders, etc.  Links are not stored in any disk folder hierarchy.

You are just wanting some hierarchical naming convention with browsing capabilities from the Links tree with sub "folders" that has nothing to do with disk folders.
