Ethernet problem with DoMore PLC

We have a DoMore PLC (model number: BX-DM1E-18ED23-D) that we can see in NetEdit following a factory reset, but only for a few seconds.  Then it disappears, never to return -- until another factory reset is performed.

AutomationDirect support says they have not seen this issue before.  Due to supply chain issues, a direct replacement won't ship until September 26. 

To avoid having to rewire, we are wondering what the chances of getting Ethernet working by adding a POM Ethernet module are.  Any thoughts?

I seriously doubt that it will be September for the replacement. Product is leaving the factory at a pretty good rate right now and we expect the backlog to be filled long before then.

But this doesn't sound like a hardware issue though. Almost sounds like it is getting a DHCP address. You said factory reset, so the PLC has no program in it right? Have you tried putting it on a completely isolated network?

As for the POM, yeah, that could work, but I doubt the hardware is broken.

Originally, the device was installed on a fully isolated network with no DHCP server -- only a CMore panel and the PLC. 

The problem has been progressive:

• About three months ago, the PLC and CMore stopped talking.  We were unable to see the PLC in Netedit had to reset the network settings in the PLC to restore functionality.
  Last month, the same thing happened, but we had to perform a full factory reset to get it working.
  This time, factory resetting is insufficient.

One of our technicians recovered the PLC and it's currently on a DHCP-enabled network, but we could isolate it, if it would help.  That being said, I have a DoMore PLC on my DHCP-enabled network and it still shows up in Netedit.

Make sure you don't have a rogue SETUPIP instruction somewhere (e.g. at commissioning, needed to fake out the network to get a stubbed HMI to work).
