BRX with Nitra PAL
« on: August 18, 2021, 04:57:46 PM »
Hello,

Has anyone tried to communicate with the Nitra Pal Yet?

I just purchased like $1200 worth of solenoids.  Automation Direct just told me the don't work together.  I'm using the EIP module

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks

Greg

Hi MBAutomation,

I'm no expert on the "Nitra PAL." In fact, I've never used one at all. However, in the NITRA PAL User Manual, page 3-7, it says "The PAL EtherNet/IP interface supports... Class 3 Explicit Messaging."

So, the BRX PLC's EIPMSG instruction should be able to communicate with it. The following URL is a link to the Do-more Designer's Help File on the web. It shows the EIPMSG instruction Help.

There are two types of people in the world; those that can extrapolate from incomplete data sets.

I followed this example that Automation Direct sent me. They reached back out and told me they had this example.
Pay close attention to the pgmEnableWrites section.   If you don't do this it wont work.
