User Defined Hotkeys and More Mnemonics
« on: August 09, 2021, 09:54:04 AM »
In reference the hotkey topic pinned above, just some user feedback. First, the Hotkey PDF \ DOC aren't available to download.

Beyond  Ctrl+X, I'd like to be able to define all the hotkeys needed for "in do-more" navigation and actions. Some of the existing hotkeys are not intuitive (to me). My guess is they don't align with current typical hotkeys used in other Windows based programs. For example, I really want to Tab thru rung positions, type a mnemonic for whatever instruction or F2 to edit an existing instruction. I really do not want to move from keyboard to mouse, while coding.

I'm sure this is a topic some people feel strongly about. I assume some of the current methods are based on old school conventions. I vaguely recall AB used F-X keys for certain instructions, and probably still does. Then again, WordPerfect used to do this 30 years ago yet we've moved on to more efficient conventions since then. That's just my 2 cents

-Tab thru rung positions. Do up/down keys not work for you?
- type a mnemonic for whatever instruction. NO/NC - just start typing and use "/" to toggle, comparator "=" and "/" to cycle. Assign custom hotkeys to whatever else you want.
-F2 to edit an existing instruction. Space seems easier to me than F2.
