Do-More on Virtual Machine HELP
« on: April 14, 2021, 06:14:55 PM »
I recently got a MacBook Pro because my last windows computer was garbage. I installed the Parallels for Mac Pro version because it allowed me to choose where my usb connection would connect; either MacOS or Windows 10. I have the Do-More software downloaded and installed and it opens up great and doesn't give me any issues except for the fact it won't connect to my PLC. I have a BX-DM1E. The virtual machine recognizes the device in the control panel so I know that's not the issue. Do-More can see the PLC and I can execute the BLINK from the computer to the plc with no problem but it WILL NOT connect. I have called automation direct and they haven't heard of any "virtual machine" stuff. Now I'm stuck. ALSO, I have disabled the firewall on the VM and it still won't work. I've also tried running as administrator, that doesn't work either.
in reference to the pictures, the firmware isn't old. everything works perfect on another Windows PC with the same software version.

You're using USB, I take it?    What happens if you try Ethernet?   If you want to try Ethernet, I'd make sure both the DMD guest and Mac host machines are in the subnet you want the DM to be in, and turn off the firewall especially in the 'host' machine.    See if you can ping the PLC and if it will connect.
I retract my earlier statement that half of all politicians are crooks.  Half of all politicians are NOT crooks.  There.

Try doubling the timeout value for your USB links.
