Surely the HMI does not have an infinite number of Ramp/Soak profiles in mind making it necessary to program a Ramp/Soak completely open. Surely there are only certain categorical Ramp/Soak behaviors that your application will be limited to. If this be the case, as would be most common, then you can create multiple RAMPSOAK instructions to mimick those categories, and yet those categories have parameters in them that are completely variable and easily settable with an HMI.
For instance, perhaps I only have 2 categorical behaviors, like initialize, ramp up, soak, ramp down. I could program a RAMPSOAK with that behavior and all the parameters in the initialize, ramp up, soak, ramp down are settable and variable (see pic).
