Changing A/D Scaling Factor
« on: August 26, 2019, 07:21:16 AM »
Using a BX-04ADM-1 input module, and originally set up the scaling factor to meet the 0-14.5 PSI range of a vacuum transducer. Turns out the customer would like to work in "hg. I changed the scaling factor on the card's configuration page, and saved program to PLC.  I have checked the Force Download option when down loading the update. The card's configuration page shows the new corrected scaling factor, but the displayed value is still showing the original scaled value. Is this a bug or a feature?
What did I miss...
Thanks

Certainly doesn?t sound correct, but a little more detail might be helpful. Current scaling config, raw WX value, expected RX value, and actual RX value would be a good start.

Analog input 0 set to 4-20ma
WX0 Min 4ma
WX0 Max 20ma
RX0 Min 0
RX0 Max 29.52
Counts/ma = ma

Original setting was RX0 Min 0, RX0 14.5.
After updating setting to 0-29.52
RX0 shows 14.5 at 20ma (measured with Amp meter in series with input)
RX0 shows 0 at 4ma, which reflects my original settings and not the present range as shown of 0-29.52

Thanks

If the scale is 4-20ma = 0-29.52, then 0 is correct at 4ma.

We don't scale anything in the analog modules, we always do it in the PLC so that we can access the scaling from the HMI.  When a customer has a failed sensor and the exact range isn't available they just go to the instrument scaling page and make it whatever it needs to be.  Had a vendor supply a whole bunch of bad pressure sensors once. What a nightmare keeping the customer up and running.

I will do a PLC factory reset, and reload the program, and see it is corrects the issue.
The issue is not at 4ma reading 0, it is the 20ma reading 14.5 and not 29.5...

Sorry. I saw the statement following that line and got hung on it.
