Email woes - sender address must contain a domain

Connection is established and everything looks good.
MAIL FROM: <1234567>..
then a message stating "sender address must contain a domain"



The address I'm attempting to send to is 123456789@abc.com.

Any idea why the do-more is truncating my email address to 7 characters? It's just a standard string short. I also tried a string long with the same result.

Show a screen shot of the string in Data View using ASCII/Hex 4 or ASCII/Hex 8 format.  Possibly an embedded control character in the email address?

Top is ascii 4 hex, bottom is 8 hex. Whatever that means.

I can send email if it's LTE 7 characters. a@a.com works great. Any real address, not so much.

Found the bug! However many characters the "'From' Email Address:" field occupies under the SMTP Client Settings, that's how many you get. I had set it as a temporary "a@a.com" (7 characters) to save time in testing. This ended up costing me hours of time in troubleshooting.

So yes, you can devwrite to your heart's content, but you only get as many characters as you put in the System Config. I'm going to throw a disgustingly long garbage collection of characters to allow me to use whatever email address I actually want. Limits suck, right?!

Found the next bug!! If you don't have exactly the same amount of characters in your devwrite From as you do the system config, you get a message stating nul characters not allowed. So even though I padded the count, the "extra" characters worked against me.

So, for fun, I put a number of "1"s equaling the amount of characters in my devwrite From, in the System Configuration From. Success!

Yuk. We'll get it fixed pronto. Have a new release going out shortly.

Fixed. For reasons I don't actually remember, the From field is both NULL terminated and we keep the length in a variable. Generally it is one of the two, but not both. It was getting NULL terminated in DEVWRITE, but the length field wasn't updated. Should explain all of your symptoms.
