CTRIO and BRX
« on: June 13, 2018, 12:34:52 PM »
Are there any plans to add a CTRIO2 to the BRX or add additional axis and encoders ( quad counter)?

I have a 205 base with 2 CTRIO-2 and a 32 point input and 32 point output and 4 F2-02DA-2 and need some more I/O while running 4 servo's not linked.

Yes, but better. The BX-HSIO adds 8 ins/4 outs and basically every BRX high speed I/O function except interrupts.

When is the projected release date?

When it's ready.

jk...we're still not sure, but hopefully Q3. We have functional hardware in prototype, but there is still a little ways to go to get it releasable and launched.

I like that answer.  It is really nice when stuff actually works and has good documentation.  So far everything you have done has been worth the wait.

Any updates on the BX-HSIO? I have an OEM project that it would be great on.

Well...not Q3. We ran into some stuff, things related to HSIO development, as well as sustaining engineering things, that slipped that into Q4. We are working through the HSIO stuff now(-ish) and hope to have them resolved in the next couple of weeks. If that goes as hoped, we'll have a more definitive launch date shortly after.

I hope it works out too.  Sure do not want to use AB or Siemens on this product with the BX-HSIO I can beat the cost on AB or Siemens by a factor of 4 or more not counting software cost and you get the picture. Management bit the lie "they the biggest therefore they are the best" Kool-Aid. They think AB will stop all down time. We have a bunch of parts changers that do not know how to trouble shoot when 99+% of the time it is some mechanical problem. They change a input module when it is a prox with the end knocked off then blame the PLC as the fault.

I retract my earlier statement that half of all politicians are crooks.  Half of all politicians are NOT crooks.  There.

Vacation? You get a vacation? How the hell do you get anything done?

I protested, but my granddaughters insisted. The 3yo is particularly persuasive. I promise to work extra hard when I get back.
