DmD 2.3.x Trend Views
« on: June 11, 2018, 03:08:09 PM »
With the latest updates to DmD, in my saved Trend View layouts, it reverted Historical Data in the Trend Views to 1 MB per element.  If I set it back to another number, hit Set, Close, Save Trend View, etc, upon re-opening it still reverts back to 1 MB per element.

I am currently downloading 2.3.2 to see if that addresses it.  Problem occurs in both 2.3.1 and 2.3.2

It appears that property is not saved as part of the archive layout.  It uses the default value for the Trend View, which sadly is know to RESET back to the default of 1 MB.  Go to the Trend View Options page, and change the default from 1MB to 10MB.

We already know about the Trend View Option not getting propogated after an upgrade (e.g. 2.2 to 2.3), but I added a case to add the Historical Data Size property as part of the Trend View Archive layout.

Go to the Trend View Options page, and change the default from 1MB to 10MB.

I think changing it via View>Options fixed it through program restarts for me.  Thanks.

This is still an issue in DmD 2.5.2.
1. Updating to 2.5.2 removes the historical data setpoint from saved Trend View(s) Layout.
2. If you reset it in the (individual) Trend View's Options, (and proceed to Save the Trend View) it will not survive a Layout Close and Reopen.
3. Changing it in View>Options does still "correct" the issue.

Sorry about that.  It is in-work.  It should be in the next version.

This has been fixed and will be in the next release of Designer.

I'm back on this kick again.  DmD 2.6.2

View > Options > Trend > Historical Data is set to a larger number.

Any Trend View > Options > Add Element, results in the element only retaining 1 MB.  Must go to each element and manually change number and hit Set.

Sadly, this was fixed in 2.5, but broke in 2.6  :-[

So sorry.

There are 2 issues.

1. One deals with archiving the data size in the workspace for existing Trend Views.  This issue was addressed in 2.6.

2. The issue of the Trend View (global) Options being propagated to New Trend Views was addressed in 2.5, but appears to be broken in 2.6.

Definitely need to look at these.  Again, sorry.

This seems to still not be working for me in DmD 2.7.4

It worked in 2.7.4 in this scenario:

Created a BRX project with 2 trend views, 2 panes in first trend view (numeric, discrete), 1 pane in 2nd view (numeric).  Default data size is 1MB.  Changed one of the DST4 in 1st pane of 1st trend view to 99MB.  Changed ST7 in 2nd pane of 1st trend view to 98MB.  Changed DST22 in 2nd Trend View to 97 MB.

Saved the first trend view as a file, kept the 2nd one as a workspace only trend view.  Re-opened the project, both trend views were restored.  Both had 1MB for most of the elements, except for the ones mentioned above.

Connected to Simulator.  Opened up the saved trend view from the previous session.  It had 1MB for all the elements except for the 2 that are 99, 98.

Please provide details on how to duplicate what you are seeing.  It's probably different from this, so you may have found a "hole".

Sorry, I didn't give you much information there.  This is what it is still doing for me:

View > Options > Trend > Historical Data is set to a larger number.

Any Trend View > Options > Add Element, results in the element only retaining 1 MB.  Must go to each element and manually change number and hit Set.

I do think opening a previously saved project works fine for me, the Trend View's Elements retain their previously defined MB size.

I can duplicate it.  Very strange.
