I/O Mappings indicates incorrect text color

Top line displays as black, even though I have automatically assigned addresses.

I think that is just because the bar cursor is on that row. Gray text on a gray bar doesn't show well.

Nah. Text should be white. It's only black when you first open I/O Mappings and at the top row. Selecting another row corrects the issue. The module loads with an incorrect initial color value.

It is the selected row without focus. I can easily make the argument it shouldn't be that way, but it is working as designed.

Sure. I just found the design misleading. I thought for an amount of time, "why is that card manually assigned?".
