Comparing BRX to Arduino Ad
« on: September 30, 2017, 05:44:23 PM »
I saw ADs ad comparing a BRX to an Arduino for a simple automation application.  I've been making this same argument for about 20 years.  If you value your time at all the BRX wins hands down.  The only think wonky about the ad was the choice of analog flow meter and proportional valves shown.  That flow meter and the valve are each well north of $2000, so would you really care what the controller cost?

We are actually doing this same kind of control loop in our products, except we have cut costs by a lot by using a motorized bi-directional valve with no controller and an inductive position sensor.  This makes the valve that wears out really inexpensive and the PLC does all the positioning.

Click to Arduino, maybe, but BRX to Arduino seems kind of denigrating.
I retract my earlier statement that half of all politicians are crooks.  Half of all politicians are NOT crooks.  There.
