Internal Serial Problem

Hoping someone can give me a hint as to why I cannot get a serial hand scanner to work with the on-board serial port.

I have the port configured for "Program Control" and also have all the various com setting correct. When I trigger the scanner I see nothing in the IntSerial.InQueue and also no RX light blink.

If I stick a SERIO card in and use the same setting it works just fine 

Am I missing something?

I believe the serial port has to be set to "General Purpose".

I'd guess either a busted port, or a hardware handshaking/cable issue.

Same thing. Renamed for 2.0.

I swapped the cpu and am still having the same problem. I can see data in a hyper terminal also with all the same cabling and also serio card is happy...confused as can be haha

Okay I figured it out kinda. I swapped the adapter I am using to go from a 9 pin serial to a rj-11 and it now works for both the on-board and serio cards. No clue why it would only work with the serio card on the other one
