Forum emails not received
« on: November 17, 2015, 03:59:41 PM »
Anyone else having issues where you don't get notification emails from the forum? I just looked back and the last time I got a notification email from forum@hosteng.com was in 2014. Looked through spam box and nothing there so looked through mail server's raw logs and can't even find a record of forum@hosteng.com attempting to connect to my mail server. Curious if this is isolated to just me or if others are having a similar problem.

I have been getting mine. They are always marked as spam though, even though I have them in my safe list (this is with my msn account).

Me three.  I get one anytime someone posts in any thread I've commented in.

I believe you can turn them off, though.  Check your profile and make sure the setting didn't get goofed up somehow.
I retract my earlier statement that half of all politicians are crooks.  Half of all politicians are NOT crooks.  There.

Checked profile settings and it all looks good. Can one of you tell me what email address the notification emails are coming from? I can use that to sift through my mail server's records.

They come from forum@hosteng.com
I can dig into the header for more info if that would help.

Thanks for that. I was able to dig through my mail server's logs and I found the problem. Looks like Host needs to update their SPF records...

Thank you again Mark for the heads up.

I added that information to our SPF record.  It should propagate in a couple of hours.

I will follow up to make sure this has fixed the problem.
