DirectSoft 6 - Modbus TCP Help
« on: July 28, 2015, 03:19:59 PM »
Hello! I am new to the Automation Direct PLCs. I have a customer that requires we use a Direct Logic 205 PLC with a DL 250-1 CPU and a H2-ECOM100 module. I need to create a program that will act as a pass through. I have received a Modbus map from the customer that has about 85 register numbers. I figured out that I first need to configure the peer to peer using NetEdit 3 then use the ECOM100 CONFIG ibox in my program. Next I started using the ECRX iboxes. Can I get some more detailed information on the correct approach. All the information I have gathered has been just doing online research. I would really appreciate an in depth help on this. Thank you. If you need more information please let me know.

It sounds like this isn't an option, but the DL205 using an H2-DM1E will be far easier, faster, and cheaper.

Why would this not be an option?

You stated that the customer required you to use a D2-250-1 and an H2-ECOM100. If that is not the case, I would use the H2-DM1E and enjoy faster, easier, and cheaper.

Im sorry I read your comment wrong. But yes we were provided with the CPU and the module so we don't have another option. Is there any help you could provide me with to set up the programming with the materials that I have?

Ortiz.Edward,
Have you received any guidance on this yet?  If not, let me know.  Maybe I can help out.  I have a project right now in which I am using several DL260's and H2-ECOMM100's, utilizing the Peer to Peer feature.
