document/disription hidden?

Hello,
The other day I had to plug into a 205 and find out why I was not getting an input, clicked on the status to see high lighted instructions. One thing I noticed was that all the instructions had no nick names, Itried to "turn on the nick name and the documention but, still nothing. What did I do wrong, or was I looking in the wrong place? This was written by someone else and has been has in operation for about 5 years now. I saw the origenal ladder, I helped with debugging and comissioning now, when I log on to the PLC I can not see any of the discriptions of the inputs or outputs. The machine is runnig, found a wire broke in the limit switch but, I had to open each one, one at a time to find the problem.

The documentation does not reside in the PLC. You must get a copy of the original program files.

Thanks Bernie,
I'll have to look and see if he left it in the PC he used to write the program, I'm hopeing he did otherwise he wants $85 an hour to give me any help with it. I'm pretty sure it's on the PC he used because one other person had to make some changes when needed and he also left the software behinde for us, after all we paid for it....Next time I'm there at the machine I will look and see if it's all there.

Found the original program, found the problem and fixed it…..
