Fixed.  Changed it to read  "Do not ask again during this session - okay to download if no ERRORs"

Good deal.  That will be much less confusing to your more literal customers like me.

The Output Window is not modal, it's just a docked view.  The download/runtime edit would will have already occurred if we did not have that prompt/message box.  Better safe than sorry.

It might not be modal but it sure is persistent.  I even tried shrinking it down to 1/4" or so since as you note, it's a docked window, but I believe it kept resizing itself and stealing my screen space with every download, so I have to close it each and every time.  I think you may want to have a talk with it.  I don't think it's taking my check-box very seriously.

The output window can be a pain.
What I have learned to do, is to always leave the window docked in auto hide. It hardly ever bothers me anymore.
If you close it (like I used to do) then it takes over every time it thinks there's a problem.
Circumstances don't determine who we are, they only reveal it.

Oh yeah, autohide.  Cool idea, didn't think of that -- thanks plcnut!

I've had the privilege to see some of plcnut's code, and trust me when I say that he pushes hard enough that warnings and info in the output window would be fundamental to his programming experience. ;)

USB issue with Do-more.
« Reply #322 on: November 18, 2014, 06:41:40 PM »
When connected to the processor via the USB port, powering down the PLC seems to be locking up DmD 1.3.1. I have had this happen every time. I am thinking Ethernet always recovers when power is reapplied. This is kind of a bummer and I know I should "disconnect" first, but how often is that going to happen?  ::)

I probably should have tried to see exactly what is happening, but it's always an "under the gun" time-frame when I run into this. I figured at first it may have just been my laptop, but I have seen it on a desktop and a customer had the same issue.

Any solution besides "disconnecting" first?

I have not seen that...cause we certainly wouldn't have shipped it if we had. We routinely power up/down, yank cables, hot swap crap we shouldn't, etc, with no issues. Gut tells me it is a Windows driver issue. Are you using a docking station? A 100 year-old PC? Anything else that might be relevant?

No docking station. The PC is certainly not triple digit old, but maybe two. But hey! It runs Rockwell's Allen-Bradley RSLogix so it can't be all that bad.

I run mostly XP. I won't be able to test any further for a few days, but I will try it on a few different (newer and Win7 even) laptops and desktops and see what is reproducible and get back with you. If it should work without this issue I would sure like to help get it cleared up.

Just getting started, there's a learning curve (been working with Think N Do too long)but that's part of the fun. Am looking to upgrade all my Think N Do CPU's to Do-More (looks like it will be a big step up in scan time with the testing I've done so far). So far, I like it, I like it a lot. Would like to see one for the 450, yeah I know it's not very popular, but expensive to replace the whole rack.

I have replaced a couple winPLCs with Do-mores and have a few more to do. Stage program make it very easy to do. Make each chart a program and each loop point use a stage and it works great.

Several of my ThinkNDo programs are around 200 charts, is there a limit to the number of programs Do-more can run?

Just image register (256K), program memory (64K), and heap item limit (1000). Depends on complexity, but 200 seems in play.

So swap your 405 CPU for an EBC and run the rack as remote to a DM1E with no I/O.  (Hosties, this is doable, yes?)
