H2-SerIO & H2-SerIO2, Classic RS232 to TTL conversion..
« on: January 25, 2013, 12:39:08 PM »
Not sure if this is the correct place, but there is no dedicated H2-SerIO, H2-SerIO2 Section...and I am attempting to do this with the H2-DM1E. The question below could refer to the Built-In serial port as well.

Classic RS232 is (0 = Space = +12V, 1 = Mark = -12V).
I want to try connecting a few TTL (5V), CMOS TTL (2.8v, 3.3v) serial instruments/sensors which use 0-5v, 0-3.3v, 0-2.8v for the same data.

There are lots of converters on the markets...anyone have a favorite?

What would be even cooler is to have some TTL switching ability so that I could use a MUX to communicate with several of these sensors using on RS232 port. I'll knock down the voltage from a few channels of the D2-32TD1 and give the port switching on the MUX a try...  But I guess that's just me trying to remove a requirement for additional H2-SerIO and RS232/TTL converters. But makes my code less universal as I would always need to know where the port switching logic for the MUX is being driven coming from.
