Two DL05.... how to program them to run as one?
« on: January 30, 2010, 09:09:41 PM »
I have an application where I need to hook together two DL05's or maybe one DL05 to a new DL06 (not sure yet). basically expand an existing install to put on more temps and and outputs. How does this programing work? How does it share variables back and forth?

Or just step up to a 205
An output is a PLC's way of getting its inputs to change.

My customer wants to expand his system but doesn't want to take down the old system he just want to expand it. I was thinking about a FieldI/O but i still thinking just adding an 05 or 06 would be less expensive then taking down and buying the original setup and enclosure.

I'm almost certain the 06 will act as a Modbus RTU master out the 15-pin port (Port 2).  If the 05 will act as a slave, you could host the entire app on the 06 and just use the 05 as remote I/O.  If you had to, you could also get H0-Ecoms for both, but they're $200 or so each.
I retract my earlier statement that half of all politicians are crooks.  Half of all politicians are NOT crooks.  There.
