Profibus
« on: January 14, 2021, 06:37:58 PM »
Hello All,

I deal with Profibus a lot at work, and I wouldn't mind playing around with it on a BRX PLC.  Is there any talk of making a Profibus module? Or is there something I have missed for a module?

Thanks

Have not really had any call for it.

I think you should do it.  It would be a great way for others to learn and understand older protocols.

I used to be after the same thing but I understand it's kind of a pain.  You have to buy the special licensed chip, etc.  Plus, with Profinet now, who needs purple Barney hose?
I retract my earlier statement that half of all politicians are crooks.  Half of all politicians are NOT crooks.  There.

We might do Profinet at some point, but the ROI for Profibus is non-existent.
