CPU not going into run mode
« on: August 20, 2019, 06:13:32 AM »
Powered up a machine the other day that uses a 340 CPU. CPU did not go into run mode. Tried to go online with it and I could not connect. Got called away to another machine and when I got back run light was on and I could connect.

Power light on CPU was on the whole time. Also this is in a old TI 305 rack. Do not know if that could be the issue since the power supply is part of the rack.

Has anyone seen this before?

Fairly common in those old 305 bases.   The electrolytic caps dry out and they take forever to start up.  Get a new base from Automationdirect.com.

Yep, ditto.  Have experienced this a couple times myself.  ADC sells both adressing mode style racks.  I upgraded the last one I did.
I retract my earlier statement that half of all politicians are crooks.  Half of all politicians are NOT crooks.  There.
