HSIO and encoders
« on: August 02, 2019, 04:20:52 PM »
Can someone explain the logic behind the HSIO modules not supporting 5V inputs for encoders?  Would seem the HSIOs are made for motion applications.  Why not support 5V, even if it required hard jumpers or dip switches to select.  Would save on having to add external signal conditioners for servo/stepper applications.

Because 5v, high speed, and opto-isolators don't play well together.
