Data View nickname/element
« on: November 30, 2015, 06:17:55 PM »
I understand you can turn on viewing both the nickname and element in a data view, but I think it would be nice to be able to hover over an nickname and have the element popup. This would also be nice in the ladder view.

Good idea for Data View.  That feature already exists in Ladder View - the tooltip shows both the element and the nickname, and any cross reference information.

Could be you may have accidentally turned that feature off?  If so, right click on a Ladder View and select Options... in the context menu.  In the Ladder Options sub-dialog, look at the Popup Tooltip group, and check the Cross Reference box.  Also, on the top of the sub-dialog under the Apply Options To: group, make sure you check everything that is checkable:
Current View, All Open Views, and especially New Views (so that it "takes" as the default option for new Ladder Views).

Yes, I was aware of the feature in ladder but I turned it off because it gives too much information and the popup too big. It would be nice if you could select to only show the element.
