Do-More crashes if Ethernet connection isn't established
« on: November 16, 2015, 04:53:11 PM »
Trying to get Do-More to work over VPN via a cell modem.  My cable connection through a switch has worked fine.  I got a VPN connection to C-More panel but in trying to connect to Do-More PLC it crashes DMD if the connection isn't established.  There doesn't seem to be any graceful way to quit trying to connect. Waiting didn't work. Hitting cancel causes it to bring up a Program not responding error.

Really wish I understood Ethernet IP a whole lot better. Every time I need to set something up I really struggle.

Once the Comm Server crashes, DmD is hung. Open up Task Manager and kill DmDesigner.exe and CSMainDm.exe if present.

Apparently there is something ugly happening in the Comm Server when the socket isn't really there, but acts like it is. We have heard about it, and would like to fix it, but aren't entirely sure what is happening or how to duplicate. I'd wager that it is a pretty simple fix once we can dupe it. If you can give us specifics, we can try to get the appropriate VPN hardware in here to dupe.
