Feature request -- Show NickName and Element name in certain windows

I wish nickname AND element name would show up certain boxes. Like in INIT boxes and similar ones like it when I type an elements name in the box it shows me options for nicknames but once I select it it just shows the Element name, it can become hard to keep track and swap between the two, and it also lessens the usefulness of nicknames in those situations. Also in a math box it will let you type in the element nickname in the result box and it will help you find it, but it won't help you find it in the Expression box, you either have to know EXACTLY how you named/spelled that nickname or know the element name, again kind of lessening the usefulness of the nicknames. 

IDK if these things can be fixed or added easily but it'd be really nice QoL thing.

Agreed - the MATH Box is a free form "code expression" editor (vs. a single parameter-based editor).  We don't yet have a free form version of the auto-complete.

Try hitting F9 and see if that helps a little bit (Element Picker will do auto-complete then put the element at the caret in the text box).

We work hard to ensure your screen realestate is optimized.  For instructions like INIT that is a huge table, we only show Nicknames (if they exist) or Element.

If you have Nicknames turned on, realize you can do Ctrl+/ to toggle documentation OFF and ON real quick.  So if you have an INIT box with a bunch of NICKNAMES, hit the Forward Slash key while holding down the Ctrl key to see the ELEMENT names, then hit Ctrl+/ again to toggle back.

Oh, for EDITING - try this - in Ladder Options, in the Documentation group box, select the radio button for
"If both Elements and Nicknames are checked, when entering instruction editor, set fields to"

select
Prefer Nickname over Element

make sure you have "New Views" and "Current View" (and All Open View) ALL CHECKED when you make that change.

Thanks for the tips those are great! I knew there would be some work arounds. It'd still be nice to see both Element and nickname in certain situations but these tips definitely reduce the need. The need would completely go away if I could Ctrl+/ while editing a math or init command and not just in the ladder view, but still very useful!
