Announcing Do-more Designer 2.5 and 3 new BRX Specialty Modules

Version 2.5 Do-more Designer is now available.

Version 2.5 contains the following new features, including support for the latest BRX Specialty modules (BX-HSIO1/2, BX-SERIO).  View the Updates.pdf file for complete details about all the new features available for Do-more PLCs in 2.5.

• New BRX I/O Specialty Modules:
  
  • BX-HSIO1 (sinking) and BX-HSIO2 (sourcing) High Speed I/O module
    Input Functions
    
    • High Speed Counting - Step/Direction, Clock-wise/Counter-clock-wise, Quadrature with position scaling, frequency measurement
    • High Speed Timing ? measure time across various single edge or dual edge input events
    • Interrupts ? trigger Interrupt Service Routine based on Discrete Event, Microsecond Timer, Match Register on any Axis/High Speed Counter/Timer accumulator
    • Pulse Catch ? capture a narrow positive or negative pulse on an input so "normal" logic can see it
    Output Functions
    
    • Axis Motion (Drive as Step/Direction, Clock-wise/Counter-clock-wise, Quadrature emulation) using AX* instructions (AXJOG, AXHOME, AXPOSTRAP, AXPOSSCRV, AXVEL, AXGEAR, AXFOLLOW, AXCAM, AXSCRIPT, et.al.); up to 4 Axis (1 virtual, 3 tied to actual output pairs)
    • Pulse Width Modulation configured via the PWM structure members .Period and .DutyCycle or the PWMOUT instruction
    • Table Driven Output using TDO* instructions (Programmable Limit Switch; Preset Table script of various Set, Reset, Toggle, Pulse On, Pulse Off after micro-second duration, trigger Interrupt Service Routine)
    General
    
    • 8 High Speed Discrete Inputs (up to 250kHz)
    • 8 High Speed Discrete Outputs (up to 250 kHz)
    • 4 High Speed Timer Interrupt Triggers (microsecond resolution)
    • 4 Discrete Input Event Interrupt Triggers
    • 4 Match Register Interrupt Triggers
    • Up to 8 BX HSIO modules per BRX PLC, so multiply the numbers above by 8 for PLC capability!
  • BX-SERIO Serial Communications  module
    
    • Four RS-232/RS-485 Serial Ports, independently configurable
    • Isolated serial port that can communicate via RS-232 or RS-485 (software selectable). Includes ESD protection and built-in surge protection.
    • Protocols: Do-more!? Protocol (Slave)(Default), Modbus RTU (Master/Slave), DMX512 (Master/Slave), K-Sequence (Slave), ASCII/Custom (In/Out)
    • Baud Rates: 115200, 57600, 38400, 19200, 9600, 4800, 2400, 1200
• New Instructions
  
  • AXSCRIPT - Run a Sequence of Axis Commands (BRX only)
  • HTTPCMD - HTTP Request/Response with Server (BRX only)
  • JSONBUILD - Build JSON Record (BRX only)
  • JSONPARSE - Parse JSON Text (BRX only)
  • PWMOUT - Pulse Width Modulated Output (BRX only)
• New Connect to PLC dialog simplifies establishing a connection to a new or existing PLC
• MQTT Client expanded to include MQTTS, QoS 1, and Persistent Session type
• TDOPRESET supports Triggering ISR
• Upon connecting to a PLC, Output Window lists out any Warnings/Errors, particularly I/O issues
• Cross Reference View shows Rung Numbers
