BRX error causes memory change

This is weird, and I can't figure it out.  It has happened twice now, so I'm not completely crazy.

The PLC will suffer an error (I THINK is caused by a GS3 drive being powered down, which will annoy the EDRIVE 100 module).  When everything comes back online (without any input from me), I have an SS70 in memory that changes on me.  It contains: GET http://192.168.0.10/post/, and it will revert to GET http://192.168.0.10/post, simply dropping the last slash.  The thing is, I few months ago, SS70 did contain the shorter string, without the final slash.  The I moved all my files into a folder called /post/ and restructured the file names accordingly.

Anyways, simply adding the slash back to it puts everything back to normal.

So, is it:

1. reverting to an old memory for SS70? (how, and what else is reverting to older values?)
2. is it simply parsing the slash (why)

I don't have hard facts to further my theories, and I have not tried to replicate, but this has happened twice now in a few months, so I'm concerned.

What is the "Error" that the PLC shows?

When you say "comes back online", what does that mean?  Did it reboot?

1. No
2. Maybe.  I'd bet on other things happening.

We need more information about how this happens.

How is SS70 actually set?  Via ladder logic (e.g. STRPRINT), HMI, Designer (e.g. Data View Write), or possibly multiple of these, specifically old code or old HMI?

I have replicated the issue.  The PLC doesn't really show an error pertaining to the fault (just various can't connect to TCP...  It occurs on a input power outage to the PLC.

BINGO, I just found a $FirstScan instruction that would re-write the old address to SS70.

Sorry for the confusion, sometimes the problem does not lie where I initially think it is...  Yesterday I thought the BRX stayed powered up while the GS3 was shut down, turns out they flipped breakers to everything "just to be sure".

Thanks for walking me through troubleshooting 101, I had too many things to check on a re-start that I overlooked the obvious.
