communications problem
« on: April 01, 2015, 11:17:41 PM »
Is it somehow possible to slow down the communication in direct soft6. When connecting to plc with wireless Ethernet then after a while the communication stops "hangs". One solution is to not use online status monitor. It seems like with a strait Ethernet connection this is not a problem. I sure would be nice to be able to slow the communications to avoid this problem. In directsoft5 this would happen also but it seems version 6 is worse. A description of the settings in ds600.ini would help maybe.

We discovered a way to improve comm performance while developing Do-more Designer and ended up having to regulate the comm interval due to the comms overloading the status display. We made the same change to DirectSoft 6, but did not make the same change to the interval. It didn't seem to be an issue due to DL comms being less efficient than Do-more, but we are thinking we may need to do so after all. So the short answer is 'no, you can't right now', but we understand the need and will be doing another maintenance release to add this.
