I am trying to restart a machine that has a direct 06 plc in it. I can link to it but can not change state of bits manually with the change value button or in the data areas. Can anyone help please.

Make your link using K-Sequence instead of Directnet (DNet).

An output is a PLC's way of getting its inputs to change.
