Program PC - DL-05 question(s)
« on: September 29, 2007, 03:55:58 PM »
Hello, I am wondering if I can connect DirectSoft to the DL-05 at a speed
greater than 9600? It is slow  :( to update when using DataView.
Thanks.

The secondary com port can be set to higher speeds. The left-hand program port is fixed so that you always know its properties.
An output is a PLC's way of getting its inputs to change.

Here is a thought - if you are going to be doing more than 1 or 2 PLC programs, invest in a ECOM100 and do all the programming via ethernet.  It makes for a much faster datatransfer.

Yeah, there are a number of customers that don't ship ECOMs as part of their systems, but own a single separate H0, H2 and/or H4 ECOM/100s for "development" and "trouble shooting".  Basically, it's part of their "cable"  ;D

Remember though, you gotta have an open slot in the local base to plug in this "cable" (which could very well be an issue w/05 PLC)
