Card Type Error in DL-05 Config I/O
« on: August 04, 2011, 05:51:37 PM »
I recently installed an F0-04AD-2 (voltage input) module in a DL-05 PLC. Checking the I/O configuration, I find "Card Error Type" for slot 1.

As a check, I pulled it out, and put it in a DL-06 PLC, which read the I/O properly. Always up for the challenge, I put it back into the DL-05, which again showed "Card Type Error". Undaunted, I set up the rung to initialize it, and found that it is reading the analog input voltage correctly. So, it seems to work OK.

Anyone have an idea if there is a firmware update that would report the correct I/O?
Though the data values look good now, am I tempting fate if I put this in service?

Thanks for any help!
Laura

Laura, we are not the DL05 PLC experts, however, that most certainly does sound like a DL05 firmware issue. It is stated in the firmware update data: "DL05 fw 4.60 started F0-04AD-2 support."
There are two types of people in the world; those that can extrapolate from incomplete data sets.

Greg, Thanks for your reply, a firmware upgrade solved the problem!

I've got the latest firmware installed now, and the module is properly recognized.
