Restore Default Settings without Software
« on: June 10, 2011, 01:45:23 PM »
Is there a method for restoring a H2-ECOM100 module to the factory settings withoug using NetEdit3?  NetEdit3 crashes every time I click the [IPX] or [TCP/IP] buttons.

Alternately, can the IP address in the H2-ECOM100 module be changed throught the PLC CPU's (DL260) Port 1 connection?

Interesting. . . Lots of views but no responses, other than me talking to myself:

Well, Self, it turns out the problem you were having was with NetEdit3 and its incompatibility with Windows XP 64-Bit.  Once you installed NetEdit3 on your Windows XP 32-Bit Virtual Machine, you was able to get the software to run properly and see the H2-ECOM100 module you was having trouble with.  You were then able to configure the module with the desired IP address and all seems to be right with the system once again.  Problem solved. . .

No excuse Andy, but perhaps this will help a bit...

We are eyeballs deep in a project we have bet our futures on...people are in and out due to vacations...and we have had a ton of forum distractions due to spammers getting around the security.

We just kicked out Netedit 3.8. I am pretty sure it runs on Win7 64 bit, but have no clue about XP 64 bit. Heck, I didn't even know there was one.

I have been away from the office since last Wednesday, but I promise to flog my minions upon my return.

I understand your situation and thank you for the response.

I have version 3.8 installed on my 64-bit XP system and it crashes.  It works just fine on the 32-bit virtual machine.

I hope the project is a huge success!

Yeah, but that doesn't count -- you were gonna do that anyway!  :D

Aahh...there is nothing quite like a good minion flogging to get back in the swing of things! I guess I will have to do so twice! :D

Ooops... sorry AndyTBWR. I did not see this post. I did, however, send you an e-mail response from your post to support@hosteng.com but got no response...  :P

However, having been summarily and properly flogged, I will be more vigil.  ;D
