It sure would be nice to be able to connect USB devices into the BRX. One thing I always wished that I could connect was a USB based barcode reader. I'm assuming that there must be some good reason why you guys never developed this capability.

There seems to be a limit of 1024 bytes associated with various "processes", STREAMIN comes to mind as one example. You can only download 1024 bytes each time that instruction is run. STRPRINT might be another example. Are you giving any thought to increasing the size to any of these?

USB mastering requires different hardware and lots of driver support. It isn't trivial if you don't have a OS. We choose not to have an OS to reduce the hack risk.

The 1024 limit is internal buffering. That would be be easy to increase with our next hardware.

Use Modbus instead of native?   Not sure if the Modbus scanner is limited to 16 server/slaves, but I doubt if MRX/MWX is.

The DM2 will have more processor power and much more memory, so yes, we could easily increase capacities like this. It's always a balance between expected use cases and available resources.

EtherCAT support. A lot more items are moving to that from RS-485 and jumping over modbus TCP. Would be nice of the support from a POM or a secondary Ethernet port.

It's been discussed. POM probably is too limited, but a module would be fine. Biggest question is exactly what people would want supported.

How about a more powerful webserver? One that makes it easier to create dynamic HTML pages. A few use cases I would find useful:

• Create pages for I/O testing: show status of digital and analog inputs and allow toggling of digital outputs and writing analog outputs. This would enable early on-site testing by the electrical contractor.
• Programmatically generate a page of current Modbus registers, showing Modbus address, Nickname, Extra Info, Description. Add an export button for the list. The list on the page would be created when the page is called and be populated with the actual valid register list. This would allow a 3rd party system integrator to read the actual valid Modbus register list.
• Create a simple user interface for operators. Showing process variables, setpoints etc. This would be a useful operator interface, served directly from the PLC itself.

Better support for EDS files for ether net IP would be nice. All the EDS I have tried loading have failed on the BRX because they exceed the size limits.

Command Line Interface (CLI) for DoMore Designer could give AI-tools handles to configure, program, test and troubleshoot.

A subset of the above is AI supported PID Autotune. I was struggling with a loop the other day and sent a screenshot of the PID view with wild fluctuations to Gemini and got very helpful guidance.
