Like the Title says, My Do-More Designer will not edit on my New Dell after a Firmware Update this morning. The Software was open and I was running it, when I went off to answer a phone call..  when I came back the Dell ( One week old Machine ) was updating it's frimware..  Took about 5 minutes and it did a few Restarts. I opened the 2.92 back open to edit some lines, and It 'Locks'.
The Screen somewhat 'Greys' and the Edit Box goes to grey. The Mouse still moves, but everything I click it, all I get is a 'Ding'..  I Seems like an Error Screen is open Underneath something I can't see.. I can even close the Screen, or End the Program.. I have to go into the Task Manager to Stop the Program..

After a few Power Cycles and Restarts, with the same result, I un-installed and Re-Installed the Designer Software..  SAME RESULT..

I can Navigate if I'm not Editing.  But once I hit the Cntrl E or the Edit Button the Dell Locks up..

Running W10 last Update from Windows was on the 4th of this month..  I was Editing Yesterday.. I do not know If Edit was open this morning when it Updated, but I was in the Documents page changing a few things..

For now I'm having to work on my Older Lap top running Designer 2.8..  Lucky Most of my Programs are still in 2.8, and its only a few hand changes necessary  to enter by hand on my 2.8 Files..

I've opened a Corporate internal trouble ticket about the update..  Not sure what can be done..

ALWAYS have a Back Up Machine!!

Found it:..!!!

I was running Three total Screens. One Lap Top and Two Remote..  After the Firmware Update all the Various Pages were Disorganized..  By Selecting only PC Screen, that forced all screens on to the Lap Top Screen. And when I opened ONLY the Designer Software, and Selected Edit Mode, the Right Side of an Error Splash Screen showed up on the Very Left side on my Lap Top. I have no Idea what the Screen was saying as I could not drag and Drop it, but I was able to find what I thought was the Top Right Corner of it with likely where my Mouse Pointer was..  When I clicked that 'Un-Seen Close Button', my Edit Feature came to life!..  I knew it sounded like an Error Screen, but I could not find it..

Whew!..

I hate Updates!..

There's a modal dialog that intelligently shows up to point at a new feature - it checks to make sure that the dialog fits on the screen (outside the client area sometimes).  If it doesn't completely fit in the screen area, the dialog shows up centered in the middle of the window.

But when Windows lies to Designer and says that there is a monitor there, but there isn't, then the dialog shows off screen.

We've learned that if someone ever says "Designer is locked up after I upgraded", I tell them to hit the ESC key (dismisses the off-screen modal dialog that is pointing out a new feature).

Glad you figured it out!
