Internal Ethernet DHCP
« on: March 18, 2021, 01:04:07 PM »
I am having problems with the internal ethernet and the SETUPIP instruction.  It keeps returning 255.255.255.255.  If I use the BX-P-ECOMLT, I get a correct IP Address.  Using the system configuration, it will pull a correct IP.  I loaded the newest firmware into the BRX.  I am building 13 of these machines to be used at 11 different locations at our facilities around the country.  Our IT department requires me to use DHCP, they will not give me static IP's.  I will also not be traveling to all locations for commissioning of the machines.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm guessing that's a bug. I'm struggling to remember whether SETUPIP was extended to support DHCP on the internal port, so I'm guessing it wasn't.

You can set the internal port to DHCP mode from either DmD (on the System Information dialog) or from NetEdit.

I did that, and it pulled a correct IP, but DST18 still shows 255.255.255.255

Thanks,

Nick

Also, the SETUPIP instruction doesn't seem to change the DNS either.

It's all related. Should be easy to fix.

Will this fix be in the next release?  When do you think it will be available?

Thanks

It will, but not sure when that will be. October at the latest. Earlier if there is a critical bug, or if we've amassed enough minor bugs to justify a release. It isn't hard to release, but the Release of The Week starts to become a nuisance to users and tech support.
