Designer freezing up when enable Edit Mode

Do-More designer 2.8 locks up hard (need task manager to kill it) when I turn on Edit Mode. Which isn't good since I updated the PLCs yesterday while we were shut down and now I can't edit anything.
Even if I go offline, I can't edit.

After updating the PLC firmware, I wrote the program (there were no changes at the time except the version change) and saved it. Today when I open the program, it says there are differences between the file and the PLC (shouldn't be). There's 3 options: use PLC, use disk, or ignore and go offline. All 3 still causes the designer to lock up when I click Edit Mode.

Can you email your .dmd project file to support at hosteng.com?  Hopefully we can figure it out.

I sent 3 examples. However, I created a new blank offline project, saved it, then closed the designer and reopened the blank project and Edit Mode worked fine. Now Edit Mode is working in all other projects as well. So finding the problem is going to be nearly impossible.

I could not duplicate it on any of your projects.

I'm gonna bet you had a "nag" dialog pop up, but it was off screen (or on a 2ndary monitor that you did not notice?)

We addressed one nag dialog that had this misbehavior.

When you opened an empty project, when you went into "edit mode", did any message boxes ("nag" dialogs) show up anywhere?  If so, do you remember what it was about?

If this does happen again, just hit the ESC key, which should "dismiss" the misplaced "nag" dialog.  You should then go into Edit mode just fine.

I suspected a message box popup but could not find one. With the empty project I did not get a message box either.
I had tried pressing Esc and Enter and Ctrl-C and Ctrl-Break with no success. I even tried the red X close button on the top right. The only way to kill it was task manager.
Whatever was stealing the focus though is gone now and hasn't come back.
