D2-12TR or D2-12TA View Manual or View Specs
« on: September 06, 2019, 04:32:51 PM »
Right clicking on the module in any "picture" view of the PLC and selecting View Specs or View Manual links to the DirectSoft pages/manuals. The addressing shown is wrong for the H2-DM1x.

This is kind of a problem, especially if you are new to it (and more especially if you have no internet access on the plant floor.) It caught me out when trying to assist someone over the phone. I knew about the D2 addressing, but didn't know what to do with that vs H2 and wasn't on-site with the live machine.

The H2 Hardware User Manual has it right, but that ain't what you see from the above selections.

The 205 hardware manual is the same for DirectLOGIC and Do-more.  There is no difference.  The DirectLOGIC modules are still numbered as if they are octal, but for Do-more they are decimal, that is correct.  It should not be taking you to the software manual (DirectSOFT nor Designer).  When I tried it, it took me to the 205 hardware manual.

Also, the Spec link did take me to the spec sheet for the I/O modules.
Designer sends the following query:
http://www.automationdirect.com/pn/doc/spec/D2-12TR
which then forwards you to the correct spec sheet
https://cdn.automationdirect.com/static/specs/d212tr.pdf

Yes, those are all available only when you have access to the Internet.  They can all be saved to disk, if needed.

The 12 point modules are showing 16 points in the map.

Addressing from the Spec Sheet Link on right click is octal.

Addressing from https://cdn.automationdirect.com/static/manuals/h2dmm/ch5.pdf linked in Help is decimal.

And yes, the 16 points in the map is not ideal since it is confusing, but that is not the "point" of my post.

I'll see what we can do to address the Dm vs. DL manual issues.

Fixed in Designer 2.7
