BX-DM1-36ED1-D + BX-08DA-2B No voltage out
« on: April 02, 2018, 09:52:45 AM »
Cannot get any voltage out on BX-DM1-36ED1-D + BX-08DA-2B when writing to WY0 output.  Automation Direct has sent a new PLC + Analog card but still no luck.  Running latest 2.2 Do-More and Firmware. Status for the module does not change when 24 volts is removed from the analog expansion card.

WY0 is the built-in analog output located on the top right side of the built-in I/O of the BRX. So, are you saying when you add the analog output card to the BRX that WY0 stops working? Or are you mistaking WY0 as being the first channel of the added-on analog output module?

In Do-more Designer, if you pull up the Dashboard view (View --> Dashboard, if it's not up already), then if you hover your mouse over your analog output module as pictured, it will tell you the address of the channels. For example, if your BX-08DA-2B module is the only added on module, then if you hovered over it, it will show you that the first channel is WY2 (not WY0). It occupies WY2-WY9. The build-in AO is WY0-WY1.

<<NOTE: After posting this, @kc4ums pointed out to me that the BX-DM1-36ED1-D doesn't have any built-in analog. Oops on my part.>>

Noticed the BX-DM1-36ED1-D mentioned above doesn't have built-in analog. Oops. My mistake.

My guess is simply that the module is physically bad. I've seen a few reports of "no output" for this particular module of late (BX-08DA-2B), and the fix was simply to replace the module. Currently on AD's website, these modules are listed as: "Due to conditions beyond our control, this product is not available at this time" --> https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/Shopping/Catalog/Programmable_Controllers/Do-more_Series_(BRX,_H2,_T1H)_PLCs_(Micro_Modular_-a-_Stackable)/BRX_Series_PLCs_(Stackable_Micro_Brick)/Analog_I-z-O_Expansion_Modules/BX-08DA-2B... so I don't know when a replacement will be available. But that would be my foremost suggestion at this point.

He mentions above he has replaced the PLC and card already. Can you go to data view and type in WYO and see what the value is? Just curious. Then try to use Value to change the number. Might have to disable any other writing to the location for value to change.

We understand the issue.
