Can't exit pid tuning
« on: July 28, 2017, 03:41:19 PM »
A couple of times now I have lost communications with the PLC while trying to do PID tuning and there is like no way out of the tuning routine! Click all the buttons and you go nowhere. Just an annoying little bug.

Does Do-more Designer crash? How do you recover from this?
There are two types of people in the world; those that can extrapolate from incomplete data sets.

I was able to duplicate this.  It does not crash, but it "hangs around".  It may eventually crash - I don't know.  I wrote a FogBugz case on it.

Thanks for looking at this. I always wonder if I am just being dense and missing the obvious. In this case the obvious is damn I like how autotune works!!!

Why is your comm dying at a very pregnant moment?

Dismissing the dialog is minor compared to the Loop mode being overridden, being stuck in either Auto or Manual mode.  That's what the Auto Tune dialog is trying to resolve, and why it cannot be dismissed, but is unable to resolve, hence the "can't exit" issue.

It's sort of like doing a Force, then losing comm.  That is almost always not good, because you can't UNforce until you re-establish communications.
