DOMORE and H2CTRIO
« on: November 23, 2016, 11:45:25 PM »
HI,
I am VERY new to motion control( it is interesting but looks sort of complicated) so I am trying my best to understand it.

I am practicing with the Automation direct 3204 power supply, 4850 stepper driver,17048 stepper motor, H2 CTRIO and a DOMore processor H2DM1E.
I started with some simple movements/profiles , analog control(0-5vdc, got the motor turning etc.

I played around with the CTREGRD and GTREGRW functions, hoping you can write a value to the register and change the speed or rpm but didnt get it to work, maybe I intepereted it wrong.

The question is:
Can the stepper motor be manipulated externally from the ctrio i.e sending values to the registers?
Anyone got/wiling to share  examples and Tips so I can better understand?

Thanks.

Greg

Hi hex1, I highly recommend you watch the videos about using Do-more with the CTRIO2 module here: http://www.do-more.com

Just go to the link above and click on "Videos," then watch the "Do-more Motion Control Videos" in this order:

  • Motion Hardware Setup
  • Motion Config and JOG
  • Trapezoid Moves
  • Dynamic Motion
  • Motion Using Limits
  • Motion Using Encoders
There are two types of people in the world; those that can extrapolate from incomplete data sets.
