All LEDS yellow on Do-More
« on: September 15, 2016, 04:35:31 PM »
What does it signify when all the LEDS on the Do-More are illuminated yellow? Cycled power no change. Pulled the Do-More and replaced with spare to get machine back running. Took the "bad" Do-More to my test rack in my office and powered up - no LEDS would light up. Turned power off to test rack, waited a few minutes and powered back up - now "bad" Do-More is ok. I'm confused.

All yellow leds means unit is stuck in reset. If it recurs, and does so on more than one base, it almost certainly indicates a failure of one of the power supplies on board. How old in the unit?

Purchased 4/16, however has only been in use for a couple of months. This happened during a power was shut off for preventive maintenance for a few hours. Do you mean the base power supply or a power supply on the Do-More module?

"bad" Do-More still ok in the test rack in my office and the replacement is still fine in the machine rack where the problem originated. Seems like just a fluke, I will put the "bad" unit back in the machine first time I catch it down.

Put the "bad" unit back into the machine, seemed ok. Cycled power to the machine all leds stuck on green. Put spare back in the machine, booted ok, cycled machine power, still booted ok. Brought "bad" unit back to office and booted in test rack all leds stuck on yellow.

There are several power supplies on the CPU itself. It sounds like one of them has become unstable. Doesn't happen often, but parts go stupid at times. ADC will replace the unit.

I asked about the age of the unit to rule out a manufacturing defect that was present in a handful of early units.
