Minor DMD bug
« on: March 05, 2015, 01:10:25 PM »
There is a tooltip that pops up when you hover over the rung comments area of the ladder. If I click the "Never show this again" checkbox, it will disappear until the next time I open DMD, and then it is back.
Circumstances don't determine who we are, they only reveal it.

Go to "Options..." and turn off "Popup Tooltips -> Comments" for the Current View and New Views.

That's a temporary "don't show this again", just for THAT view.  I know - some of our stuff is persistent, others are not  :(.  It's a way to temporarily turn that off, for just that view, without having to go through all the work to turn it on/off as described below.

To turn it off PERMANENTLY, go to View->Options, Ladder tab,
1. Uncheck the Popup Tooltip group's areas you don't want (or check it if you want to re-enable it)
2. Check Current View and New Views in the Apply Options To at the top (New Views is the key one, that's what makes it permanent)
3. Hit OK

So basically, that "Don't show this again" is equivalent to going to the Ladder Options page and unchecking that option for JUST Current View, but NOT New Views.  This tiered option selection has always been there since 1994.  We will hopefully have a better way to do this in a future release.

No problem. The checkbox on the tooltip gives the impression that it is permanent. I got rid of them now though :)
