Are there or have there been any plans to implement any sort of CANBUS controller in the DL series? Seems to be a pretty big hole in the market here.

There have been some Device Net efforts, but nothing pure CAN Bus. Host is coin operated, so we're happy to pursue anything folks will buy in reasonable quantity. Truthfully, we don't get much call for it, probably demographically driven. Do-more may change that over time, but it's still early.

It would be nice to a have a CanOpen platform with us we have alot of equipment here from europe.

I've seen that used quite a bit on German equipment. They like to put all the I/O on Canbus or some type of Remote I/O system. Then to meet customer requirements they'll either use a Siemens PLC or with eventual disdain hack another type of PLC in with a scanner card. That way, they don't have to change the I/O structure.

Could you use a protocol bridge?  I've done that before when trying to place the square PLC in the round application.

I have an ADFWEB N2K/MB TCPIP interface that I need to program at some point for another project, and they do sell a CAN unit, but I was hoping for something native. We have tons of stuff on CAN, and even more of the devices that we read on stuff like MB TCP/IP is using a built-in bridge. HVAC is a good example. Currently using a Red Lion DSP, which I never would have spec'd myself due to price, but am enjoying using. Natively it's all CAN.
