Problems with using H2-CRTIO CH1 and Output 0 separately
« on: July 18, 2012, 09:14:40 AM »
What I am doing is:

I have a Excel file with Total "hits", Position of each, and a Punch Number to fire.

I am using LookoutDirect to read the data in to the PLC one at a time. as well as std machine HMI functions. but the data is already set in the Excel file. (no operator input of any Positions all from Excel file)

I am using Dynamic Positioning to send pulses to a servo drive that will follow the pulses to move my machine carriage.

if I bench test with out worrying about the carriage stroke limitation by inhibiting the "Regrip" it works perfectly

Now the part that is causing the problem is that the parts that I am processing are longer than the machine Travel or Stroke, so I have to "regrip" the part after moving the carriage back to "Zero". multiple times to process the part.

So my thinking was to use the Output count to keep track of the PART Position, and use the Servo motor encoder input into Ch1 to keep track of the Carriage position.

after each move I want to find how far to the next position (from the previous part position) and calculate if there is enough travel left on the carriage to get to the next position, if not then release the part and return to carriage zero and regrip, then move to the next PART position.

I have a PDF file of the Program if someone can help me..  This is the last bug I have to get the project out into the field for beta testing at the customer.

Sorry that we weren't much help. We are up to our ears right now trying to get you-know-what out the door...
